I need sleep.

My little munchkin for some reason has decided to get up at 4am ish for the past week. Leaving me very tired when he has also decided to get up again for the day at 9am. His schedule has been all wonkey since the time change. Were slowly getting back on track, and I do mean slow.

Second thing is the doctor told Veronica that the babies should not eat carrots till they are about nine months old. What the crap.. I've never heard that before, the infant / toddler cook book I have has a couple of recipes for carrots. Zave loves them, and I've been feeding them to him all along, I think they were even his first veggie. I think he will still be getting them.

Ahh, napping in our crib!

Zavy has slept in his crib for 3 nights in a row, two of which were the whole night through! He has also been napping now for over an hour in his crib! Its a small victory, but a victory none the less.

Zavy newest fascination is with his reflection in the mirror. He came with me to my doctors appointment today. Once I was called back, we sat in the exam room for a good 30 min. I kept him entreated playing peek-a-boo in the mirror on the wall with him self. He was cracking himself and me up. We also found out today that Zav's tummy dose not like baby oatmeal. I'm pretty sure that it was the culprit to his mid morning throw up. But boy, dose he like apple sauce!

Almost sitting up!

Today Zave and I went for a visit at grandma and grandpa's while daddy cleaned the kitchen, picked up a few thing at the store and started dinner! Wow, the Daddy making dinner part I could go for more of. LOL After dinner Zave drank from Mommy's cup like a big boy from his high chair. Than when I picked him up, and sat him on my lap, he reached for the cup again and brought it to his open mouth. Of course he was assisted by mommy, but still, I'm proud!

Another proud moment for me was when this evening Zave and I were hanging out on the floor and he started to get fussy. I was doing some emailing so I picked him up and put him in a sitting position next to me. OMG I let go of him and he just hung out here for a few seconds, then leaned forward, but still in sitting position with his hands on the key board. My boy is working on sitting! After a bit he just leaned over and rather then holding him up I let him fall with my assistance he seemed to like that part, he laughed at that. I think by the end of the month he'll have sitting down pat.

Zavy's first job interview

Yes, today Zavy had his first job interview! Yesterday evening I got a call to come in for an interview, today was the only day he was in town... blah blah blah. Any who I told him I would love to come in and talk, but on such short notice, I did not think I would be able to find a sitter. He said, "just bring him with you." So that's what I did! He was a perfect little baby even for it being his nap time and sitting in barffy spit up clothes. On the way he had one of his famous barfing drama. I went to scoop him from his car seat and he was a hot mess. I was running like 5 minutes behind so I wiped him up with some wet wipes in the parking lot. Thank fully he I had in in over-all's so I unhooked them rolled them down and put a blanket on his lap. Could barley tell the mess that was once there....LOL The interview went well, for those of you wanting to know, it's a part time job taking pictures of new mini people. Or newborns if that's what you want to call em'. I hope getting out of the house a couple days a week will be nice.. so we'll see.

On a second note, Zavy is sleeping in his crib as we speak... hope he stays content till the AM. No nap in his crib today, but he did a great nap in the car. Both him and Kelson napped in the back seat while Veronica ate ice cream and I drank a slushy. Not wanting to wake them up, we were parked in the drive way for about 10 minutes till that got boring, so we drove over to the pier and parked to watch the water.

( For those of you who are like, hey who's Kelson, and Who's Veronica?, "V" as I call her is big sister, Kelson is her son who is 3 weeks younger then Zavy, so that is supper fun for all of us!)

As of late my new nightly/ daily drama is getting Zave to sleep in his crib. For about two months he was fine with it. At night he would fall asleep quickly or stay sleeping when I put him down, and usually sleep through the night. Napping was always hit or miss in his crib, he dose however love napping in his cradle n' swing. Most of the time I don't even have to turn in on, he just snuggles in and closes his eyes. I have to say if it were not for that swing I would not have survived the first weeks as a mom. At night it was the only place he would sleep if he was not being held from birth to 3 months. My genus husband figured that one out after our 5th night with taking turns holding him and sleeping. Ahhhh sweet, sweet, sweet sleep!

Our new nightly routine now includes tears, on both Zave's part and mine. I put him down drowsy but he wakes right up fussing and crying and OH my its horrible. I try to leave him.. but once the tears start my heart starts to hurt.... how can you just leave your baby be when he seems to be in so much utter distress. I usually break down after about 15 minutes and pick him up. Then nurse him again just in case his tears are because of starvation, because it has been a whole 20 minutes since he last nursed...LOL Zave then usually falls back asleep after about 10 minutes and the whole thing starts again. The past two nights I've given up and put him in his swing to sleep for the night. I feel like I'm moving backwards! This is definitely an up hill battle Argh!

My achievement to day was getting him to nap in his crib, there was fussing, and his fake no tears crying that kinda makes me laugh, because he smiles while doing it a lot of the time. But after 30 min of that, he did nap! Of course I did have to play a round of peek a boo, which I do love. I get those great smiles and giggles that melt my heart. I also had to do my rendition of some Motown songs along with the ipod going on in the background all while staying in his field of vision. But I did triumph in this battle, and I put away a stack of summer cloths too! So technically is like two battles right? Dose it matter that the nap only lasted just over a half hour? Either way its still a small victory on my part!

So I'm a stay at home mom. I know, I know the title "stay at home mom" comes with oodles upon oodles of preconceived notions. I know when I was single I thought it would be the easy life that included play dates, shopping trips and me being a gourmet chef and sex goddess all in one day! Ha I really have to laugh at my single self! So far there is nothing easy about staying at home or being a mom. Boy oh, oh boy if I would have had a crystal ball! Most days I'm happy now if I get a speed shower in and I get a smile from my bundle of joy.

To get to the point I'm sure there are tons of rookie mom's or veteran moms out there who deal with the same things I do. So sharing my experience's, laughs and tears and all out crazy moments with all of you in cyber space could do us both good. I look forward to sharing and hearing your stories too!
